Community members and MSJC students alike are invited to join the Valley Winds Concert Band for the Fall semester! The Valley Winds is a large concert band open to all wind instruments and percussion, performing a mix of wind band standards, newly composed concert repertoire, and arrangements of popular tunes across two or more concerts each semester.

There's no audition to join - we just ask that musicians can fluently read music on their instrument and play at a high school level or higher. Whether you're a seasoned performer or haven't picked up your instrument in years or even decades, you are welcome! The Valley Winds is primarily an adult ensemble, though a limited number of high school and homeschool students (sophomores and up) are also welcome with parent/guardian and band director permission. The class may be taken for 1 unit of college credit (MUS-203) or as a free, non-credit course (MUS-902) - email the director for help in deciding which option is the right fit for you.

Rehearsals are every Tuesday from 6:00-8:50 pm in the band room at Temecula Valley High School, beginning August 11. Interested musicians are encouraged to email the director and register before the semester starts, though you're also welcome to attend one rehearsal without registering to try us out.

Ready to join? Have some questions? Email the director, Professor John Tribelhorn, at jtribelhorn@msjc.edu. Include what instrument you play, a bit about your playing experience and background (school band, returning after a break, etc.), whether you're interested in the credit or non-credit option, and any questions you have about the band.
